Dear Art Guild Member,                                                            March 12, 2009

            Here is information you will need to read and fill out in order to participate in the Art Guild’s Spring Art Show held April 24, 25, and 26 at the Tellico Village Community Church’s Christian Life Center.  Please submit applications as soon as possible.  Applications must be received by April 6th.

  • This show is open to AGTV members. (2008-2009)        
  • Art Show hours will be: Friday 7:00-9:00-which is Meet The Artists Reception with desserts, beverages, and entertainment, Saturday 10am-4pm, and Sunday 8am-2pm
  • Entries must be original.  (No prints or reproductions)
  • All two-dimensional work must be framed and wired-no saw tooth hangers.
  • Paintings on stretched canvas that have painted edges (all sides), must be wired.
  • For three-dimensional artwork, some cubes and tables with cloths will be available.

ENTRY INSTRUCTIONS

  • Each artist may submit up to six entries.
  • After completing the form, attach labels to the back of 2-D pieces, the bottom of 3-D pieces.
  • If you are registering a piece of artwork that has been previously recognized (piece juried into a show or won a ribbon) write your name, the name of the piece, and all pertinent information on a separate piece of paper.  Then attach this information to your application form.
  • Deliver art to the Receiving Committee at Tellico Village Community Church, Christian Life Center on Thursday afternoon, April 23rd, between 1:00 and 3:00 pm.  Only artwork listed on the original application form will be accepted.
  • Artwork will be hung by the committee members.  Entrants are asked not to change the placement of the art work.  No exceptions.
  • Programs given to the public will list: your name, name of artwork, your phone number, and price of the artwork.  According to the Church rules, sales must be conducted off site.
  • All artwork must be picked up by the artists or someone on their behalf, on Sunday, April 26th between 2:00-2:15. General teardown will begin at 2:15.    
  • All entrants are asked to participate in the following manner:
  • 1.         All artists are asked to attend the Meet The Artists Reception.

2.         All artists are asked to bring a dessert for the Friday night reception or donate $10.00 for desserts, flowers, and supplies.  (We prefer that you bring food.)

3.         All artists are asked to sign up to work in one of the following capacities.

            *Setting up the equipment—tables, screens, lighting etc.

                        -Thursday morning, April 23rd -9:00-11:00, 11:00-1:00

            *Receiving the artwork

                        -Thursday afternoon, April 23rd-1:00-2:00, 2:00-3:00 pm

*Preparing the beverages, setting out and arranging the desserts, and cleaning the kitchen

            -Friday night, April 24th-5:30-7:00, 7:00-8:00, or 8:00-9:00 p.m.

*Counting the guests -Friday night, April 24th-7:00-8:00, 8:00-9:00 pm

*Greeting at the door and hostess table inside the door—to welcome artists and guests

            -Friday night, April 24th- 7:00-8:00, 8:00-9:00 p.m.

            -Saturday, April 25th -10:00-11:00, 11:00-12:00 a.m.,

12:00-1:00, 1:00-2:00, or 2:00-3:00, 3:00-4:00 pm

           

            -Sunday, April 26th -8:00-9:00, 9:00-10:00, 10:00-11:00, 11:00-12:00 a.m.,

                        12:00-1:00, 1:00-2:00 pm

*Tearing down the show

            -Sunday, April 26th -2:15-4:00
