Knoxville Photo 2020 at the Emporium Center 

David Hardin had 2 of his photographs selected to be part of the eighth annual Knoxville Photo juried exhibition, which featuring selected works from 32 artists throughout the region. The exhibition encompassed photographs depicting all subjects and genres, including streetscapes, cityscapes, landscapes, environmental portraiture, portraits, abstracts, and more and was displayed in the main gallery of the Emporium Center from July 3-31, 2020.

Judy Lavoie "Cow's in the Corn"

Judy's painting "Cow's in the Corn" is being showcased in the  "The Best of Watercolor-Splash 21"  hardcover coffee table book published by Artists Magazine. This year's theme was "Capturing Mood" -- the judges chose watercolor paintings "that reflect excellence and originality in capturing mood, as well as a variety of styles and subjects."  Her painting is one of just 125 selected from 1476 entries. 

Art Museum Texas online exhibit

Claire Payne's daily art journal created during COVID-19 is showcased in a solo exhibit at Art Museum Texas:

National Watercolor Exhibition
Kate Aubrey and Lil Clinard are the only two watercolor artists in TN to have paintings juried into the National Watercolor Exhibition (NWS) this year which were presented on-line May 2020.  Congratulations!

Tennessee Watercolor Exhibition
Jean Porter, TnWS Region IV representative, reports that 11 of the 16 artists of this region juried into the Tennessee Watercolor Exhibition (TnWS), 2020, are members of the Art Guild of Tellico Village.  Congratulations to Kate Aubrey, Jann Bohnenberger, Lil Clinard, Mary Dougherty, Lee Edge, Linda Johnson, Judy Lavoie, Nora Merritt, Jean Porter, Linn Stilwell, and Laurie Szilvagyi.  Region IV consists of the greater Knoxville area.

Judy Lavoie's "Sorghum Maker"
Judy Lavoie's "Sorghum Maker," an original watercolor, was accepted by juror Linda Baker for the 41st National Exhibition of the Georgia Watercolor Society (GWS) . Exhibition was slated to take place at Oglethorpe University Museum of Art in Atlanta GA through April 26, 2020, but the museum was closed due to the coronavirus. The show was hung but never opened, and the juror selected award winners online. You can view the fabulous show online.  Judy used "Sorghum Maker" to illustrate her presentation "Anatomy of a Watercolor Painting," presented to AGTV in May, 2019.

Judy Lavoie Scratchboard Art

Judy Lavoie has been juried in as an active member of the International Society of Scratchboard Artists (ISSA), based on submission of 5 samples of her scratchboard art.

Judy Lavoie's "Like A Rainbow"

Judy Lavoie's "Like A Rainbow," 
an original watercolor, was accepted into the 43rd Southern Watercolor Society (SWS) Exhibition, with 80 paintings selected from 340 entries by juror Mark Mehaffey. The Exhibition is scheduled to be held May 12 - July 12, 2020, at the Customs House Museum & Cultural Center in Clarksville, Tennessee.

Dennis Sabo Photography - Portfolio Collectors 2020 Edition

Dennis Sabo Photography is featured in the Portfolio Collectors Issue 2020 of Portfolio Magazine, Naples, Florida.

Portfolio publisher, Bill Hemmer states, “The 2020 Portfolio Collector’s Edition features the outstanding works of photography from selected national and international photographers; their inspired works of art and their original points of view. Dennis Sabo Award of Excellence

Dennis Sabo, internationally honored photographer, recently received the “Award of Excellence” from Manhattan Arts International, New York, NY for their Healing Power of Art 2020 exhibition.

Says Dennis, “It is an honor to have received this award. I work tirelessly to create art for those who appreciate and need art in their lives. I have always been a true believer in the art of healing.”

Says Renée Phillips, curator, for The Healing Power of Art 2020 exhibition”, “The art here was created by artists who have achieved a level of artistic excellence, mastery of their medium, and who submitted images that convey a message about the healing power of art.”

Oak Ridge Art Center Open Show 2019

October 5 thru November 30

The Oak Ridge Art Center’s Open Show 2019 included 19 works of art by 15 AGTV

members. They are: Kate Aubrey, Lil Clinard, Mary Kay Connell, Mary Dougherty,

Lee Edge, Muriel Fawcett, Pam George, Gail Henn, Linda Johnson, Judy Lavoie,

Nora Merritt, Jean Porter, Ted Richards, Linn Stilwell, and Laurie Szilvagyi.

Lee Edge was awarded the Anne K. and John Moore Memorial Award for excellence in

transparent watercolor for Shadows; Linn Stilwell was awarded the Two-Dimensional

Award of Merit for What Shall We Call Him?; Judy Lavoie received Honorable Mention

for Heart to Heart, which also won the Viewer's Choice award

This juried, mixed media exhibition from regional artists opened October 5 and ran

through November 30. Juror Victoria Boone, former Visual Arts Director of the Tennessee

Arts Commission and professor at Vanderbilt University, accepted 104 pieces from 366

entries. Gallery hours at the Oak Ridge Art Center are Tuesday - Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

If you’re in the Village the next three months check out Dennis’s  new mini art exhibition titled “Blue Planet” at the Tellico Village Wellness Center.

Dennis’s Wellness Center art exhibition covers our aqueous planet Earth from the marshes of Acadia National Park, Maine to the surf conditions in Tennessee.

Ted Richards will have a solo show at the Rarity Bay Community Center.  The show will run from January 4th to March 31st.  The opening reception is Sunday January 12th from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.  Refreshments will be available.
