November 21, 2019 Meeting and Program

Program: Bob Meadows gave a presentation on the history of books and making books from scratch. Bob took a Book Arts class in 2004 at John C Campbell Folk School in NC. He then took additional classes and taught there for several years. He has also taught classes and workshops in creating handmade books at Fountain City Art Center and Jerry's Artarama in Knoxville.

Program Speaker: Curtiss Brock curtissbrock.comCurtiss Brock is an internationally known glass artist. An established glass artist with a presence in museum collections around the world, Brock founded CB Glass as a vehicle for developing limited edition blown glass pieces that focus on function and originality of design. He challenges himself as a craftsman and a designer to create accessible work. Brock’s ideas come to life as a result of day-to-day practice and calloused hands. He is persistently interested in the way light and glass interact. Many of his pieces change colors or cast beautiful shadows in the presence of strong light.

Program Speaker: Yunjo Lee,  henryandhodu.com Yunjo Lee is a conceptual and entrepreneurial mind-set jewelry designer based in New York. She worked with world renowned names including Tiffany & Co., Michael Kors, Paloma Picasso and Frank Gehry. She has established a reputation for designing coveted and iconic jewelry collections for global luxury brands. Her presentation featured a variety of her collections and she described the creative process of conceptualizing each of them.

May 16, 2019 Meeting and Program

Program Speaker: Judy Lavoie, judylavoieart@gmail.com Judy will present an interesting and informative program on how to create a painting, from conception to completion. She'll show the step-by-step process she used to create one of her newest watercolor paintings, Sorghum Maker.

Tutt Hoy will also introduce the 2019-2020 board.
